South Island - Our Intrepid Journey Day 89 – 97 15 – 22 January 2010

From 30Dec09 until 04Feb10 our blog, www.mtorhominginxs.blogspot.com, will be rather brief as we will be touring with good friends, Mike and Lynne, who only have a limited time in the South Island. It will primarily be snaps of places as we pass through which will be revisited at a later time, including other places, when we will post more pics and details. Watch this (blog) space. This blog is best viewed in conjunction with Raewyn's email episodes.

ROAD TO MILFORD
The following pics are just a few of some of the varying scenes on the way to and from Milford.

Lake Te Anau

We spent three nights free parked at Te anau over the time we went to Milford.

Lake Manapouri

We passed through Manapouri on the way heading further south.

As you can see the day was taking a little time to get going.

Clifden

The main attraction at Clifden is the old suspension bridge.

That has a free camping area with water and toilets at the base of the bridge.

Tuatapere

A quick stop at Tuatapere at the Yester Year Museum and Café.

And some of the not so old relics.

Monkey Island

On to the free camp at Monkey Island for the night and a bit of a fish.

On a somewhat windswept coast.

Cozy Nook

Expected to see Rick Stein at this almost Cornwall fishing spot.

Riverton

Cheap bowling club if you’re interested.

This wasn’t the only house with turrets.

Lake Wakatipu

The next two are interesting morning pics of Lake Wakatipu.

As we head back to Queenstown.

Paradise

The Paradise road sign says it all.
